Find the Right Camp for Your Child
Traditional Camps
From canoeing to campfires, Traditional Camp is full of outdoor adventures, cabin activities, and all-camp fun. Adventurers (ages 8–10) and Explorers (11–12) stay in Main Camp, while Pathfinders (13–16) experience our new yurts at East Camp.
Equestrian Camps
For horse-loving campers, Equestrian Camp teaches grooming, saddling, and horse handling. Campers build their riding skills through trotting, cantering, and advanced techniques, including multiple trail rides and an overnight with their horse.
Ranger Camps
Rangers Camp helps campers build wilderness skills while staying in an outdoor village under the stars. Programs include Jr. Rangers (ages 10–12) and five Rangers camps for ages 13–16: Rustic Engineering, Hiking, Ozark Adventure, Survival, and Canoeing.
Mini Camps
Mini Camp is perfect for younger and first-time campers, or anyone looking for a shorter overnight camp experience! These three-night sessions offer a taste of camp adventure, with options including Mini Main Camp, Mini Equestrian, Mini East Camp, Mini Rangers, and Ultimate Mini Camp.
Leadership Camps
YMCA Camp Lakewood's Leader in Training (LIT) and Counselor in Training (CIT) programs help older campers build leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Through hands-on experiences, these two- and three-week programs prepare high school students to become future leaders.
Our daughter was very nervous about attending since this was her first time, but after the mini-camp she said she wants to return next year for a full week. Her comfort level and enthusiasm certainly grew over the course of just the three days there.

After a rough middle school year with “mean girls” it was great for her to go and make friends and have fun. She has confidence she can go and make new friends. It’s also so good for them to be away from screens, social media, and even parents and just be independent for a week.
