Mental Well-Being

More than exercise. A place to connect and belong.

At the Wildwood Family YMCA, supporting mental well-being means creating a welcoming place where people can build friendships, stay active and find a sense of belonging. Through group exercise, swimming, summer camp and other programs, the Y helps people of all ages reduce stress, build confidence and strengthen connections.

Jack Beverlin is a wonderful example of that impact. At 95 years old, Jack continues to work out twice a week and has been a Wildwood Y member since 2008. Whether he's participating in Senior Fit and Chair Yoga or catching up with friends after class, Jack credits staying active, eating healthy and socializing with others as important parts of his well-being.

Last year, 436 adults participated in mental health workshops, while 233 youth learned to manage emotions through active play in the Y's Fitness for Youth program. With Annual Campaign support, the Wildwood Y can continue creating opportunities for connection, personal growth and improved well-being throughout the community.
