Water Exercise

Swim Team

Want to swim competitively in a fun and positive environment? Join the team! Young swimmers build strength, speed and endurance while refining their stroke technique in our pathway and swim team programs.

Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes with learning a new skill or building positive relationships that lead to good character and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole person, from the inside out.

Traditional Youth Sports

The Y offers year-round team sports for kids of all ages and skill levels. Every child plays at least half of every game. We welcome Y members and non-members to participate, practice and play.  Most sports are offered in 8-week sessions with one game and one practice per week for children K-8. Preschool sports typically have one practice per week with a scrimmage at the end of the season.  

Sports offered at this branch include: Basketball, Soccer, & Volleyball.

Martial Arts

The Y offers Tae Kwon Do and Tai Chi for youth and adults alike. Y instructors are among the best in their respective martial art, providing an encouraging, non-intimidating, and family-friendly environment for students of all ages -- while making it fun! Students learn to strengthen their bodies and the value of hard work, discipline, honor, integrity, and respect

The values and skills learned early in life are vital building blocks for a successful adulthood, and we believe all kids deserve a strong start and a safe place to grow. Parents trust the Y’s child care programs to support and nurture their children from infancy through the teen years and help them become strong, capable and engaged young people.

Summer Camp

At Y camp, kids have the opportunity to explore, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships and memories. And, above all, it’s so fun! We offer camp throughout the entire summer! Our camps are designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips and more. Camps are themed weekly. Most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by the grade level they are entering in the fall. Registration opens on December 26 for the following summer.

We offer Schools Out Camp on the days school may not be in session. Campers have fun and stay busy with arts, crafts, group games, sports, swimming and much more!

The Monroe County YMCA - HTC Center is proud to offer TEAMWORK: Transitioning Exceptional Adults into Meaningful Work. TEAMWORK assists young adults with diverse abilities to become productive and independent adults after high school.

The Y provides support through education and job training, social events, health and wellness initiatives, and volunteerism.

Are you looking for indoor facilities for an upcoming event or birthday party? Celebrate your child's birthday at the Y! The Monroe County YMCA offers three party package options and a variety of themes! 

Available Party & Rental Times:
The times listed below are our normal birthday party and rental times.

  • Saturdays, 1-3 pm
  • Sundays, 1-3 pm

Pricing (Member/nonmember):
Up to 30 Kids: $125/$200

How to book your party:
Reservations must be requested 2 weeks prior to party date. Payment due in full once confirmed. You can request a party by visiting our Welcome Center or calling 618-281-9622 x 12. Or, fill out our Birthday Party Rental Request Form here and bring it to our Welcome Center.

Reservation Policy:
The party must be requested and confirmed by a YMCA Director a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the requested party.

Party Options:

POOL PARTY
Includes a 2 hour party. Swim for the first hour and celebrate for the second! A lifeguard will be provided and will explain all pool rules. Children will be given a swim test prior to entering the pool.

CHILDREN'S CENTER PARTY
Includes a 2 hour party in the Children's Center and use of the soft play. The responsible adult on-site may be asked to help maintain order as the children play on the soft play.

GYMNASIUM PARTY
Includes a 2 hour party in the Gymnasium and use of equipment. Dependent on youth sports game schedules.

OTHER RENTALS
Available by request. Visit or contact the Welcome Center for pricing and details.
